If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I absolutely LOVE Instagram. It’s the best way to get an insider’s look at the daily lives of fitness pros, models, and celebs.
And one of my fave Instagram models, besides Alexis Ren, has got to be Isabelle Mathers.
Isabelle is a model based out of Australia and she’s built up an impressive following. But most importantly, she looks fantastic in every pic. So, what’s her secret? Let’s take a look!

THE ISABELLE MATHERS DIET
Isabelle Mathers loves eating fresh nutrient-rich foods. This means she eats a good variety of vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not wrong. It’s a lot like the diets that many Victoria’s Secret Angels follow whether they’re at home or working on the road.
But unlike many Angels, Isabelle doesn’t actively avoid any foods. She’s happy to eat most things in moderation.

BREAKFAST
Isabelle’s favoUrite food, hands-down, is the avocado. And she loves to start her day off with it whenever possible.
Most often, she eats it mashed on toasted rye or sourdough bread. The avocado is seasoned with lightly salted tomatoes, topped with watercress, and vegan feta.
The entire dish is full of healthy fats and protein to help her start the day off right. And if she’s feeling really hungry, she might add eggs to the avocado toast just to give herself an added protein boost.
If she can’t find good avocado in the store, she’ll stick with something simple: two eggs served with toast.

LUNCH
For lunch, Isabelle likes to keep things pretty simple and it mostly depends on what she’s up to for the rest of the day.
Her favourite lunch foods include sushi, salad wraps, or sandwiches made with tons of fresh veg and lean protein like chicken or turkey. If she’s feeling a bit like splurging, she’ll indulge in a burger.
But for most days Isabelle sticks to eating a big filling salad. She uses fresh seasonal greens, sliced cherry tomatoes, raw zucchini, and edamame pods. This mix is tossed generously with an avocado basil cashew cream and roasted balsamic vinaigrette. Then, she tops the salad with crunchy toasted seeds.
The result is a delicious, fresh, and healthy salad that keeps her going even through grueling photo shoots.

DINNER
Dinners also try to keep things fresh and delicious. Her favourite meal is a vegetarian burger that offers a healthy take on the fast-food.
The “burger” is a veggie patty packed full of seasonings and flavor. Whenever possible, she looks for low-sodium options in the store. Gardenburger is an okay option, but if you can, try making one yourself.
The patty gets topped with fresh greens (whatever’s in season), coriander leaves, baby romaine leaves, and feta. She then smothers the bun with aioli and a caramelized onion jam.
The onion jam is easy to make. Just thin-slice sweet onions and cook them until they’re golden brown. Then, add a splash of your favorite vinegar (balsamic is a good choice) and pulse in a food processor.
On the side, she ops for sweet potato chips instead of the traditional fries.

SNACKS
Isabelle likes to snack throughout the day. It helps her keep her energy up and makes sure she can perform to the best of her ability. And like the rest of the Isabelle Mathers Diet, she tries to keep her snacks healthy.
During photo shoots, she likes to snack on peanut butter. It’s one of her
But she’s careful to keep it to a spoonful and no more. Peanut butter is a high-calorie food, so she doesn’t want to overdo it.
When she’s not on a shoot, she likes to make smoothies between meals. When she wants more greens, she makes a smoothie with kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, and banana.
But when she’s looking for something a bit sweeter, she combines blueberries, banana, and almond milk with peanut butter and frozen yogurt. The smoothie is sweetened with honey to taste.

DESSERT
Isabelle doesn’t do cheat days—and I agree with her on this one.
But she does indulge in something sweet almost every day. Most evenings, this means something chocolate.
Now, satisfying that sweet tooth in moderation isn’t unhealthy. You just have to be careful about what you’re eating and how much you’re eating.
ISABELLE MATHERS’S WORKOUT
Though Isabelle’s diet isn’t terribly strict, it’s not unhealthy either. But it’s not enough to keep her in modelling shape. She still needs to work out regularly.
And if you want to train like Isabelle and get that model like body, I have something exacting for you – Train like a model video course! I’ve created a 5-day video course which will help you achieve that model like body. All 5 workout videos are completely free and you can download them below :)

CARDIO
Isabelle loves doing cardio. But that doesn’t mean she spends hours running on the treadmill.
She likes to break things up and does stuff she truly enjoys.
Isabelle regularly does boxing, both with a trainer and without. The moves help keep her heart rate up, but they also help build core and upper body strength.
When she’s just warming up for a strength training session, she loves to jump rope. Some of Victoria’s Secret models, Izabel Goulart for example, also love rope skipping!
This high-impact exercise gets her heart rate up fast, but it’s not for everyone. Isabelle is an ectomorph body type, she can jump rope without adding unwanted bulkiness to her legs. Ectomorphs are naturally thin and don’t build muscle that easily. But if you are a mesomorph or an endomorph body type and you don’t want to grow your thighs, it might be better to skip jump rope :)

STRENGTH TRAINING
Isabelle enjoys doing both body weight and weighted squats as they target her thighs and butt intensely.
She also does a lot of work with resistance bands and her own body weight. Her usual workout involves the following:
- Leg lifts
- Donkey kicks with resistance bands
- Squats with kettlebell
- Medicine ball sit-ups with a partner
- Forward weight pushes
- Unassisted squats
- Squat with medicine ball lift and slam
- Leg curls
- Assisted pull-ups
- Weighted straight-leg sit-ups
- Single-leg reclining lifts
- Double-leg donkey kicks with 5 second hold
She doesn’t do a lot of machine-assisted weight work. Instead, she focuses on using her own bodyweight with some light assistance to tone her muscles.
Are these the exercises you should try? It largely depends on your body-type. If you’re an ectomorph, you can do most of the same exercises without worry. But if you’re an endomorph or mesomorph, you might want to avoid these exercises. They can cause you to bulk up, especially your lower body.
Instead, try one of these workouts to build strength without building bulk.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Isabelle Mathers’s diet and workout routine work for her. That doesn’t mean it will work for you. Think about your body type and do what you need to feel your best. You can always work up to a healthier lifestyle. The key is getting started in the first place :)
